The 4" Kurt is 12.3" deep and the hold down slots are 4.8" from the front of the vise. Also a 6" vise is tall and takes up valuable Z-axis travel.

Grizzly G0704 Mill/Drill with Stand. This hobbyist class Mill/Drill has a 1 HP (120V, 12A) motor, an R8 spindle and digital speed readout. The table is 7-1/6″ x 25-5/8″ and has a very smooth movement with a maximum X-Axis movement of 18-7/8″ and Y-Axis movement of 6-7/8″ movement. The stand is included and has storage underneath.
It's a decent mill for the price, but with the induction motor, it's for LIGHT duty only! Anything larger they about a 1/4" end mill, or a 1" face mill is over taxing the machine. I use mine primarily for folder work, and/or guard slotting. Personally, I have two mills, the G0704, and a large floor model Grizzly.
